Right Here, Waiting For You

An hour ago, I went out to get my daily supply of Pepsi Max and lollipops (Johan Cruyff, I am going to beat your record…and I didn’t even have to be a smoker for that) and I spotted an ad all over the neighborhood. Turns out my best childhood friend’s 14-year-old cat has gone missing two days ago. I am skeptic about her survival in ice and snow, especially given her age, but

On my way to the mall, desperately lacking inspiring things for photographing on a grey day, I got into some garage yard. Bingo. There were two cats – one on the window pane and one behind the broken window. The second one looked kinda like Maki, the lost cat…but it wasn’t Maki.

So, with hopes of Maki being safe and sound and coming back to Vedran and his family, here’s a kitty that probably never had a loving home.

Iva, your picture is great, I love it! And great story too. :)

Thank you. I can’t even express how happy I am that I can photograph again! As for Maki, I hope she’s found. My mom has a theory that she ran away to die. :(

It’s sad when pets run away. Our dog was gone for months, I thought she wasn’t coming home. Then someone brought her here on Christmas Eve. Last night she slipped out of her collar and ran off. I had to walk around in the dark, in the freezing cold, wind, and snow to track her down-thank goodness there was plenty of snow on the ground too, so I could see her footprints….sheesh, the things we do for our pets. I really hope that Maki is found soon!

I am not sure if I got it…is she there now? Coming back home on Christmas is like a fairytale, btw.

My friend’s dad and I ran into each other buying newspaper the other day…he said Maki’s been missing for 7 days, which would mean 9 days now. I think the hope’s kinda gone at this point. :(

Now she’s back again. :) This is the second time she’s ran off and then come back. I’m confused too, by the way…
