Drugs

My friend Hrvoje asked me what kind of drugs I was on when I wrote Opet, ti / You, Again. He was joking, he knows I’m straight-edge (though often caffeinated enough to see someone six next to me or think WWIII is going to happen every second); but I thought a little about it and realised that someone, perhaps, would really think I was high. Nah. It’s just a mind that suddenly was inspired by an old slogan of a newspaper that’s been running for 106 years and a heart that feels that some people are as good for it as they’re hazardous.

This was what I had last night, the only difference is that last night’s lollipop was strawberry and cream, not peach and cream. And yes, plain water…I ran out of Pepsi Max too early for two nights in a row…that’s my way of dealing with how much Italians babble between songs at the Sanremo festival; also a way of being late with a project.

Drugs?

The apple is a “Mucu” or “Muca”, I am actually not sure how they’re called internationally…they’re like a class-B take on Granny Smith apples.

As for the lollipops, that’s something new. It’s my second lollipop addiction. The first one was throughout the first five months of 1997, when Chupa Chups had those “caps” one had to collect. My favourite series was “City People” and I remember that the first “cap” I got from that series was called Psychedelic. This time, the addiction came unexpectedly, this very month and it’s for the taste, as there are no longer any collectibles. I usually get 9 Chupa Chups’ lollipops: all three from the magic series (lemon/cola, mango/apple, vanilla/cherry), the 3 in 1 one, strawberry and cream, peach and cream, orange and sometimes even that weird one that tastes like blueberries and an energy drink.

So…now I need a myth on what this combo causes in people. Apple + water + lollipop?
